Cygnis Media firmly believes that a well designed and professionally executed digital marketing campaign including aspects of the interactive web such as social media networks (Facebook applications, Twitter campaigns, etc.), viral videos, community management, and more, can add great value to your existing brand or business.

The company is founded by two social media specialists who have worked in the industry since the Facebook application craze started in 2007. Cygnis Media firmly believes that a well designed and professionally executed digital marketing campaign including aspects of the interactive web such as social media networks, viral videos, community management, and more, can add great value to an existing brand or business.
Unfortunately, most social media marketing campaigns yield poor results and are often deemed as failures. Upon investigating these failures or witnessing them firsthand, the Cygnis team found that there was no real mystery as to ‘why’ this was happening; the reasons were clear as day.

A deeper and more detailed post on this subject matter will be made available at a later time on the Cygnis blog, but just to touch on it briefly, it can be said that several social media campaigns are failing due to the fact that they are being treated like conventional advertising campaigns. Little emphasis is given to tracking the success of the campaign and even lesser still is being done to tweak and enhance based on user feedback. The beauty of the social nature of today’s web sites is that you can constantly communicate with your consumers and get insight on how they think and react to the way you execute particular strategies. One cannot stress enough the importance of analyzing this data and learning from it.

Enter Cygnis Media. The main reason for starting this company is to be a premier new media marketing company that aligns itself with the goals and objectives of the client and help add value to the existing business by utilizing the available channels found on the Internet. The goal is to not only create and execute the plans, which will help clients best achieve the objectives and success metrics, but to also educate them along the way, helping them better understand the concepts of new media marketing. Because ultimately, no one knows the business better than them, and without their feedback and participation, the campaign will not reach it’s full potential.

In future posts on the Cygnis Media blog expect discussions on topics trending the social media, digital marketing, mobile development, design and creative genres. Every now and then, expect a review of an interesting book or two, some cool new web applications or mobile applications and whatever else the tech world is buzzing about that week.

To learn more about social media and how it can help add value to your existing brand or business, drop by their web site and drop them a line for a no strings attached free consultation session. They look forward to hearing from you.

PROVO, UTAH (April 19, 2011) – Ancestry.com’s mobile app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod has now been downloaded over 1 million times, with one-third of those downloads happening in the last two months alone. In addition, over half of users of the app are new to Ancestry.com indicating a growing interest in family history, Ancestry.com and in mobile in general.

“We’ve been pleased with the early adoption of our iPhone and iPad apps and believe we are just getting started,” said Eric Shoup, senior vice president of product for Ancestry.com. “It’s a natural extension of the Ancestry.com service and another way to help our members discover, preserve and share their family history.”

Users have provided outstanding feedback:

“This is a great app! I love working on our family tree. And now I can have it with me to show to others. I was always forgetting a name or position on the tree. Now I just pull it up on my iPhone and get it right!!” – K. Noni

“Wow! My husband and I had a great time inputting our information. We’re actually going to subscribe and keep this going. Didn’t know we’d have so much fun with this App.” – S. O’Banion

“I’ve never written a review but as a historical family researcher this is a great app. I have everything I need in one place while attending family reunions, visiting cemeteries, court houses and libraries! It allows me to make changes on the spot and share information with other relatives. Bravo!” – K. Williams

Ancestry.com’s mobile app provides an excellent way to share family stories and videos at reunions and other gatherings, and it is ideal for field research, collection and documentation. The app’s intuitive user interface and integration with Ancestry.com make it simple to view individual records or entire family trees, record memories, edit vital information, document life events and organize photos. Using the camera features on iPhone and iPad 2, users can take photos of relatives, historical documents or other keepsakes and upload them directly to their family tree on Ancestry.com.

The Ancestry app is available for free at the iTunes App Store. To get started, just download the app to an iPad, iPhone or iPod® Touch, and either register for a new Ancestry.com account or log in to your existing Ancestry.com account and choose a family tree.

PROVO, UTAH (August 17, 2011)- Ancestry.com, the world’s largest online family history resource, today announced that both the images and indexes to the 1940 U.S. Federal Census will be made free to search, browse, and explore in the United States when this important collection commences streaming onto the website in mid-April 2012. When complete, more than 3.8 million original document images containing 130 million plus records will be available to search by more than 45 fields, including name, gender, race, street address, county and state. It will be Ancestry.com’s most comprehensively indexed set of historical records to date. Ancestry.com is committing to make the 1940 Census free from release through to the end of 2013, and by doing so hopes to help more people get started exploring their family history.
SALT LAKE CITY—FamilySearch has expanded the public preview of its next generation Web site. The beta test site can be accessed at beta.FamilySearch.org.

Feedback Sought

The site includes a new look, a new navigation system, and a host of revised features. The FamilySearch staff is eager for people to explore the site and test the tools. Even more, they hope visitors will provide feedback to improve the experience. To emphasize the point, a new “feedback” tab is prominently placed on the right side of each page.

New Tools and Services

One of the most obvious changes is a new search engine for finding and viewing records. The new search engine manages multiple databases, indexes, and images. The intent is to quickly and easily provide results based on user preferences. Although still under development, visitors can freely search hundreds of millions of names from a variety of records.

The site also includes a Research Wiki and Forums. The Research Wiki is similar to the popular Wikipedia (an online encyclopedia of information supplied by users from around the world). The Research Wiki focuses on genealogy information and already has tens of thousands of articles to help patrons understand the resources available to assist them in their research. Forums is an online meeting place where individuals can ask questions regarding family history research (or volunteer a few minutes to help answer questions from others).

Blogs have also been added so patrons can subscribe to data feeds of personal interest. As new posts are made, users will receive an email notification.

A direct link to FamilySearch Indexing is included. Indexing is a community-project that has already attracted over 300,000 volunteers from around the world to transcribe digitized records. The indexes are then available to the public to help find and access family history information.

ABOUT FAMILYSEARCH
FamilySearch International is the largest genealogy organization in the world. Millions of people use FamilySearch records, resources, and services to learn more about their family history. To help in this great pursuit, FamilySearch has been actively gathering, preserving, and sharing genealogical records worldwide for over 100 years. FamilySearch is a nonprofit organization sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This book captures the essence of what has been taught on the subject and each principle has been cross referenced under hundreds of different topics.”

Combating Pornography was developed to serve as a vital resource for Latter-day Saint leaders, parents, families, and extended community of clinical psychologists, addiction counselors, and recovery program facilitators.

DiGirolamo continued, “During the development of this edition, it becomes apparent that you cannot discuss one addictive pattern or behavioral cycle like pornography without considering similarities with other addictive behaviors like drug abuse, alcoholism, gambling, overeating, etc. The principles cataloged here also apply to other addictions and not only are the patterns of behavior similar between addictions, so are the steps for recovery-complete recovery.”

The Principles with Promise series publishes a number of principle-centered topical guides that catalog principles of truth taught by Latter-day Saints and other denominations. This particular topical guide focuses on the war against pornography and is valuable to anyone involved in the fight. Its warnings are clear if we’re not involved in the fight.

“Addictions are serious matters that need to be dealt with in forthright ways,” DiGirolamo asserted. “Addictions have affected many of our lives in negative ways; sometimes destroying lives entirely. Some of us may have lost loved ones to addiction and witnessed the aftermath of damage to lives and liberties that can extend for generations. Nevertheless, we are also familiar with the healing that comes from reliance on Jesus Christ and His supernal sacrifice and atonement. If we choose to follow Him, we can change and find the needed hope beyond despair.”

Combating Pornography speaks to this hope and change. It catalogs principles under more than a thousand different topics to suit the interest of different individuals. For example, if you are a parent, you might look under the topic, parent, to see what has been recommended that a parent should do to prevent pornography’s invasion into your homes.

If you are a Bishop or Stake President, you can read specific counsel given regarding your calling over the past several decades on addiction. If you want to know about change or repentance, then seek out the principles under those key words and so forth. This handbook also restates important information related to LDS Family Services and the official church website recently created to help stem the deleterious tide and pernicious effects of pornography, www.combatingpornography.org.

Not only was this topical guide developed for doing research on specific topics, it is a useful resource for seeking guidance on what to do or how to address situations, or serves as a teaching aide for lessons on hundreds of topics related to pornographic addiction. DiGirolamo suggested, “When you are counseling someone or considering your options, read what has been said on the topic before you decide what to do.”

Combating Pornography: Messages of Warning, Counsel, and Hope is independently published as part of the Principles with Promise series published by Celestine Publishing and may be purchased online at www.celestinepublishing.com. Combating Pornography is not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, however its contents are consistent with what has been published on the topic over the last several decades.

Eden Prairie, Minnesota, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) February 10, 2011 — Taylor Dimond, an Eden Prairie High School 2010 graduate and former member of the marching band, will serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Taylor entered the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, on January 13 in preparation for being a missionary in San Jose, California.

At the Missionary Training Center, Taylor is spending nine weeks immersed in Spanish before leaving for San Jose on March 16. He will work exclusively with Spanish-speaking people from Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, and other Latin American countries.

Serving a two-year mission is practically a ‘rite of passage’ for young Mormon men between the ages of 19-26. Though young men are encouraged to serve a mission (more optional for young women), it is completely voluntary and missionaries pay their own way. Taylor is no exception; he has planned for his mission since middle school by saving money, recently working at Kowalski’s Market on Highway 5, and attending seminary every morning before school for the last four years.

As a full-time missionary and representative of Jesus Christ, Taylor will not date, watch television, listen to radio, use the internet, or read newspapers and secular books for the next two years. He may talk to his family only twice a year—Mother’s Day and Christmas—but is encouraged to write home once a week. He will be up by 6:30 each morning to study scriptures and in bed by 10:30pm after a long day of knocking on doors, teaching the gospel, and community service.

Though it is hard work, this schedule enables missionaries to stay focused on their work. In the end, most former missionaries will remember these two years of service as one of the best times of their lives—as a time when they transitioned into adulthood.

After graduating in June, Taylor attended one semester at Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-Idaho), then returned home at Christmastime to say ‘good-bye’ to his parents, Robert and Sherrie Dimond of 8440 Montgomery Court, Eden Prairie, and younger siblings, Jonathan and Natalie, students at Eden Prairie High School. When Taylor returns from his mission, he plans to resume studies in accounting at BYU-Idaho where two older brothers, Adam and Jason, currently attend school.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has approximately 50,000 young men and women serving full-time missions worldwide at this time. These young missionaries do not choose where they will go; they are called to serve where they are needed.

When asked, he says, “It’s a wonderful opportunity to serve others and to share with them the blessings of living the Gospel. Being a small part of someone’s personal progress is so rewarding.”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is well known for its lay clergy. As the new Stake President for the Minneapolis Minnesota Stake, Schneiber receives no monetary compensation for his work. Today, the Minneapolis Minnesota Stake has eight congregations throughout Minneapolis, Plymouth, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Waconia.

As Stake President, Schneiber visits his congregations regularly, counseling with bishops and speaking frequently from the pulpit in church services. “Sundays are busy, but the work we pursue has such spiritual value for so many. I love it!” Schneiber explained. He also works closely with the women’s leadership of the Church (Relief Society organization founded in 1842) to ensure the welfare and self reliance of members. He attends baptisms and funerals whenever possible. In addition, Schneiber is responsible for records, reports, finances, and properties within his stake. He is also responsible for community outreach.

Assisting Schneiber are two counselors: Chris Neilson of Eden Prairie and Mark Van Wagenen of Minnetonka, both also holding down full-time jobs in the business world.

Schneiber and his wife, Laura, have been married 30 years and live in Chanhassen. They are the parents of four children—three daughters and a son—ranging in age from 19 to 27, and look forward to welcoming their first grandchildren, twin girls in August.

Schneiber replaces Lewis Bautista (entrepreneur of Eddington’s restaurants), former Stake President and resident of Orono. Bautista and his wife, Leslie, are preparing to leave for Guatemala in June where they will supervise and train more than 160 Mormon missionaries in that country for the next three years.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints strives to keep stakes at approximately 3,000 members. Each stake has 8-12 congregations. As membership grows, stakes and congregations divide. Membership in the State of Minnesota is approximately 33,300 with 91 congregations. Church membership is over 14 million worldwide.
